Good times in Connecticut

* Visits with Nana & Papa - priceless!
* Playing jump rope with Nana - priceless!
* Learning about flowers from Papa - priceless!
* Wearing our helmets while sweeping the acorns off Papa & Nana's driveway to avoid getting hit with acorns falling out of the trees.
* Staci & Dave's wedding - what great fun!
* Going to a apple orchard, instead of the store for apples.
* Visiting the beach
* Time spent with Cheryl - priceless!
* Eating lobster (that was Mom's favorite part, besides seeing Nana & Papa and
eating Papa's strawberry rhubard pie)
* Having ice cream, every day! - Thank you Nana

Things we discover while camping

* God's world is awesome.
* Slowing life down is when you discover all the wonderful gifts He has left
for us to discover.
* Food tastes better, when eaten in the great outdoors.
* It's ok to get dirty.
* You can never have enough smores.
* Reading outside is fun
* Flashlight hunts can make for interesting, and sometimes frightening
finds at night.
* Camping with friends and family is the best!
* It's ok to get really, really dirty, no one cares, at least not until you get
home. see how dirty you really are, and then it's time to take a shower
and remember camping is so worth the effort. :)

Picnic in the park!

What fun it was! There was a very funny and entertaining clown with balloons who did the most awesome face painting. There were friends, food, beautiful weather, pony rides and dogs! Who could ask for more?

Surprise Me!

The girls asked the clown/face painter to surprise them. Boy, were they surprised! Rachel - flower garden. Sarah - dolphin in the sea. Awesome!

Great lesson for Math

I'm always looking for fun ways to show the girls that Math can be fun, so when we
were at a picnic and there was a chance to win a gumball machine filled with M&M peanuts and
all you had to do was guess the number closest to how many M&M's there were. I thought, perfect, where's Simon thinking he was way better at estimating than me, but little did I know that he and Rainny, (our exchange student) from China, who LOVES MATH!, would take the challenge.
So they didn't just guess but they measured, counted, did some more figuring and YES, we won the gumball machine with a count of 850. The machine held 847 M&M's. Now our challenge has become, how to get rid of all the M&M's, and not end up with lots of cavities. :)

In-N-Out - Better than McDonalds anyday!

Still haven't forgiven myself for taking Rainny to McDonalds
on her first day in the states, but I feel better after we took
her to In-N-Out Burger. She can get McDonalds in China, but
not In-N-Out. Too bad, they're so good!!

Rachel turns 8 years old

Where does the time go?
It seems such a short time ago that she was learning to walk and talk and now she's 8.
Wow!
